Why this site has no pictures

That's on purpose. I believe design should hold together with type alone. If the hierarchy is clear and the words are good, a page works without decoration. If it falls apart when you take the pictures away, the pictures were covering for something.

It's also a useful constraint. Without images to lean on, every word has to earn its place, and every heading has to say exactly what it means.

That's the same standard I bring to client work. Start with the idea. Get the words right. Then add only what helps.
